Best ad ever

Not only are Chokitos the best fucking chocolate bar of all time (…OF ALL TIME!), but this ad is genius. And apparently real.

Purpose – If The City Had A Voice Pt II (download)

The big homie Purpose just dropped his latest mixtape, If The CIty Had A Voice Pt II. P is most definitely one of my favourite MCs in Australia, so I’m vibed as hell for the LP.

Y’all can download it free from the link below, and in the meantime, check the joint ‘While The Whole World Sleeps’, which is a soul banger.

King Fantastic & Rusko – Why? Where? What? (Troublemaker Edit) (video)

I gotta be honest, I don’t even remember what the song was like in this video. I was high as hell when I watched it. I checked it coz I knew Rusko is a dope dubstep producer, and that Kristina Rose is in it. Visuals are fresh, and let’s assume the tune is boss too.

Jamie Woon – Lady Luck (video)

As I mentioned in my SXSW wrap up post, I’m absolutely gutted we missed Jamie‘s shows. Anyway, here’s the simple video to his latest single, ‘Lady Lady’, which is an incredible tune.

Showbaby – Sara (video)

We caught these cats at SXSW last week, and we were blown away. Here’s the South Dakota boys’ video for ‘Sara’ off their self-titled EP.

Czarina – Good Luck Charm (video)

The homegirl Czarina dropped her debut video for the tune ‘Good Luck Charm’, which I rap in but, alas, I’m not in Australia so I couldn’t be there for it.

This is a really well shot video. Beautiful scenery, great production, she looks gorgeous. This is gonna kill it!

Bumpin’ Classified’s new shit up in the whip

Always been a big Classified fan. His latest album ‘Handshakes and Middle Fingers’ is about to drop, and it looks like I’m late on posting these videos. ‘Ups and Downs’ is the latest joint.

SXSW Review – The Needle Drop

Y’all might have noticed the lack of blog posts in the last week or so. That’s because we’ve been in Austin, Texas at SXSW, bitches. We barely had internet, plus with the whole attending panels/checking out a billion shows/drinking all day, there just wasn’t time, goddamnit.

So in the last fortnight, I’ve been at Canadian Music Week and SXSW and seen so many incredible shows, it’ll take me all day to write about it. Some of the highlights from CMW included: Shad, French reggae outfit Dub Inc, Eric Hutchinson and Janelle Monae. SXSW awesomeness came courtesy of folks like James Blake, City & Colour, Shad (I saw him like 3 times in a week(, Slaughterhouse, South Dakota soul rockers ShowBaby, Los Rakas, Collie Buddz (STRAAIIIIIIGHT!), Yuck, J. Cole, Melanie Fiona, the AMAZING Marsha Ambrosius, Miguel, Bliss N Eso, Blue King Brown (and having dinner with the band after, awesome people), Black Milk, Curren$y, and Big K.R.I.T. I actually nearly cried when I was denied entry to see Jamie Woon on the last night. He was at the top of my list and I don’t know why I left seeing him til the last day. I was genuinely gutted.

The most upsetting part was that Blu and Odd Future both sucked ass. Check out the video below from a vlogger we met at the panels, Anthony Fantano from The Needle Drop.com. Anthony and fellow vlogger Sami (and another dude, forgot the name, sorry guys) were the funnest bastards I’ve ever encountered on a panel, so it was both entertaining and informative. Plus Anthony was a real nice guy, so double win. But check his review of his SXSW experience below, particularly the Odd Future review, which is spot on.
