What up y’all?
We have something very different for you guys right about now…
The Movement Fam‘s Notion (Toronto) and Cee (Montreal) teamed with Heavy Aux Records‘ Toronto native iLLvibe for a fresh, fun summer jam over one of Notion’s productions; as the tangible chemistry between the three MCs became more evident, what began as a simple collaboration had now spawned something much larger and more exciting.
By combining their respective skillsets, everything from the artwork to the mixing/mastering to the music video was executed in-house, resulting in a product that truly represents these three artists with no outside influence. One single song, with the cover, audio and video being released over three consecutive Fridays in May 2013, has grown into a full collaborative EP entitled #Life, which will be produced and released over the remainder of the year, recorded and shot in both Toronto and Montreal.
#RoadTrippin is the first track from the EP, a soulful Hip Hop journey which encapsulates the imminent summer’s carefree vibe of a bunch of friends jumping in a car and seeing where the road takes them.
This project will hone in on the real, relatable aspects of life via the lenses of these three creative individuals with a focus on art, audio, video and social media (hence the emphasis on ‘hashtags’). The audio is available now at www.hashtaglife.ca, with the video to follow this coming Friday May 31st Share, Like, Enjoy! Go in!

What it does y’all?
In 2012, Cee released his debut solo mixtape series entitled ‘The Indie Experiment’, where he carefully selected some of his favourite songs from a diverse range of genres – indie rock, alternative, metal, folk, dubstep, rock, electro – and added his raps to the gaps in the tunes, creating a whole new piece of music. The addition of Hip Hop elements truly resonated with a lot of people, and this is why we’re here right now.
Due to the fantastic response from Cee’s music video for ‘Comin’ Home’, from ‘The Indie Experiment Volume 1′ project, The Movement Fam decided to completely remix and remaster the entire series and rerelease the three mixtapes with a new, bigger sound, thanks to Notion‘s amazing engineering work.
The original series was released on April 10th, June 10th and August 10th respectively. May 10th marks 13 months to the day the original volume debuted, and being that 13 is Cee‘s favourite number, it only made sense to do it today.
‘The Indie Experiment: Remixed & Remastered’ will be live tonight, Thursday May 9th at midnight Eastern Standard Time in Canada/USA, and 2pm Australian Eastern Standard Time on Friday May 10th, via Cee’s Bandcamp page.

Much love,
The homie Citizen of The Understudies out in the Bay Area, California, hollered at Cee to jump on his latest single ‘Ghosttown’ produced by Digital Martyrs, which also features Kensho Kuma and Cyberclops of CandleSpit.

Peace y’all,
Is it warming up where y’all are at? Coz Montreal isn’t really playing ball with the whole Spring thing. So TMF felt we should heat it up a bit and bring back the summer vibes courtesy of Cee‘s latest music video.
‘Comin’ Home‘ was shot in locations around Toronto in the summer of 2012 with Dave Dunville and J Mitchel Reed. The track is lifted from Cee’s ‘The Indie Experiment Volume 1′ mixtape, as his ode to both his homes (Melbourne and Toronto) over City & Colour’s haunting gem of a tune.
Cee speaks on his feelings after selling everything he owned to move to Canada to pursue his dreams with his music. Much love to Josh Telfer, Clem Ryan, Notion and of course Tiffany Alexis for all their help with the filming of the video, and huge props to editor Andrew Howart for putting it all together.
We decided to drop the video on the eve of Cee‘s birthday, so we hope y’all can help him celebrate (today!)!

What up, our people?
Whatever you’re doing this Easter weekend – whether it’s something spiritual or you’re just happy to have four days off in a row – we want our peoples to enjoy themselves so we figured we’d give y’all something to soundtrack your break with.
Notion spent most of 2012 giving you free music damn near every month, and because it’s been a minute since he dropped ‘Misunderstood‘, he wanted to give y’all something new to vibe to while he works on his debut album.
‘My Music‘ is a heartfelt, soulful banger with a hook that won’t get out of your head. Notion speaks on his struggles, his coping mechanisms, his dreams and mostly his passion for music. What better way to prepare y’all for ‘Pride On My Cufflinks’, his first full length release, coming later this year.
The tune will be live on Wednesday March 27th at midnight Eastern Standard Time in Canada/USA, and 3pm Australian Eastern Standard Time on Thursday March 28th, on Notion’s Bandcamp page for free download and/or stream. However, our folks on our newsletter get the goodness a little earlier! Go ‘head and cop that.

So on March 15th, 2011, myself (Cee), Notion and Bekah (as The Movement Fam at the time) filmed our first music video for the tune ‘Ain’t No Mountain’, from Cee & Bekah’s ‘The Soul Movement Originals’ album. After constant setbacks and delays, last year I managed to retrieve the footage from the cameraman, and this year I finally found an editor to put it all together for us.
And even though this tune is from an older project and the video was delayed, the message and the song itself hasn’t dated a bit. We feel it’s only right that on the two year anniversary of shooting the video, we release it for y’all.
All in all, this came out much better than we expected. We have give a huge shout out to editor Andrew Howarth for dedicating his time and energy into putting this video (along with a bunch of future ones) together for us to the best of his ability, given what he had to work with. It’s truly appreciated, and we hope that y’all dig it too.
The video will be live on Thursday March 14th at midnight Eastern Standard Time in Canada/USA, and 3pm Australian Eastern Standard Time on Friday March 15th, on both our YouTube and Vimeo channels. Our YouTube channel has all our other videos and pretty much every song we’ve ever released on there so feel free to check that out, while you can watch ‘Ain’t No Mountain’ in super HD on our Vimeo channel.

Much love,
Peace our good people,
Hope everyone is living good. The groundhog said that spring is on the way, and here in Montreal, it most definitely looks to be so. And seeing as February is the month of love, there’s no better time to get in the mood than right… now.
We released the very first volume of The Valentine’s Day Mixtape back in 2009, so in 2013, The Movement Fam Presents The Valentine’s Day Mixtape Volume 5: Bitches Love Mixtapes. We figured that this year, we’ll drop the tape a few days before Valentine’s Day to give y’all some time to download it, vibe with it and get it ready for the big day.
For this volume, we included one exclusive track from Cee & Bekah, featuring the homies from Melbourne, A-Diction, as well as a brand new, all French Craig Bruce interlude. As per usual, the cover was handpainted by the homie Glen, all additional artwork, mixing, mastering and engineering was handled to perfection by Notion, while I (Cee) blended the mix, and curated the song selection with my wifey Tiffany Alexis. So it really was a family affair. And it was the first time we’d completed a Valentine’s Day Mixtape between Toronto and Montreal.
This is a free download, so go ‘head and cop the tape; bloggers, any exposure or love you can give us is immensely appreciated. Share it, show your partner and enjoy!

For perhaps the last time ever, what up?
Nah, it’s prolly not the last time. But still. Since tomorrow is the ‘end of the world’ according to popular belief and media brainwashing, I felt it would be appropriate to drop one last song before it all goes to hell. In January, I promised to release one tune each month for 2012; I managed to do just that, cutting it mighty fine sometimes but I got there lol. I figured it’d be fitting to drop an older song that was never released and was recently brought back to life…
“What better way to wrap up 2012 (the world might even end tomorrow, who knows?) than to drop an original track for y’all? This song was originally written and recorded in 2007 for my boy’s compilation album. It kinda kicked around since then; I tried to finish it a few times, it just never worked. Until now. Weapon X is prolly my favourite MC out of Australia, and one of my biggest inspirations, so it was a blessing to work with dude. Stoked that it came out how it did. Enjoy.”

I gotta shout out my brother Notion for mixing, mastering and engineering all my projects this year; Josh Telfer for doing all my art for everything I’ve ever released as a solo artist; and my girlfriend and partner in winning Tiffany for constantly supporting and helping me do this. It’s been a crazy year; I’ve dropped 12 songs, three solo mixtapes and been on bunch of features. Good times. Here’s a few of the cuts I was involved in; you can grab all my solo music from www.ceetmf.com too.
And today I plan to drink beer #1000 for my BeerAndOtherShit blog. If you haven’t peeped it already, head over and check out the journey.
Thank you to everyone for all the support this year. It truly means a lot, especially as this was my first full 365 as a solo artist. Have a safe and messy holidays, y’all! Bless.
