Ah yeah. I STAYS late, pimp.

This is my September joint. It was from the Cee & Bekah ‘The Soul Movement Volume 3′ sessions, but we ran out of room on the tape for it. I really wanted to find a way to get it out, so this seemed like the perfect fit. ‘The College Dropout’ is one of my favourite and most influential albums of all time, so I had to go in on this one.

Wow. This is just silly. Posting this almost a month after it dropped. I fucking suck. If anyone wants to help the Fam out with blogging, holla. Coz I clearly lost all concept of time.

For the fourth year running, Notion and I put together (with the assistance of my lovely girlfriend Tiffany on the song selection tip) a solid collection of lesser known, soulful, smooth as fuck tunes to soundtrack the most romantic day of the year.

Strangely enough, it seemed Volume 3 saw a decent increase in downloads right before the day itself, so hopefully folks will get on this one before Valentine’s Day 2013 (if the world hasn’t ended by then).

Grab it free from The Movement Fam Bandcamp anyway; it’s a really great collection of music, regardless of the theme. There’s two exclusive cuts this year, both from Cee & Bekah. The first is ‘Close To Mine’, over Trey Songz’ ‘Wonder Woman’, and the other joint is actually an unofficial remix of Tony Williams’ single ‘Dreaming Of Your Love’ (remixed by Kiri Kanes), which Tony himself actually asked us to do. Tony is Kanye West’s cousin by the way, so it was a big fuckin’ deal to us back in the day.

This clip is weiiiiird. Hype Williams is on deck, and usually dude doesn’t disappoint. It’s a cool video, don’t get me wrong, and Rihanna is SMOKIN’. Jesus. I need me a broad like that, I’d wife that in a second, WOLF GANG.

But the colours are a bit much and all the text rather than images is boring and annoying. It’s honestly worth it for Rihanna alone. Go in.

So Ricky played a gig in Mississauga the other week. Why the fuck did he have to play out in the burbs? Anyway, looks like dude filmed this video of him rolling in a Maybach through downtown Toronto, so either way it’s boss. Peep game.

I just can’t understand this whole phenomenon. To me, his music is nothing short of average. I’ve tried on numerous occasions to get into the tunes but I can’t. Definitely achieved way more than expected.

His latest mixtape had a damn near superstar line up (production from J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, features from B.o.B., Killa Mike, Yelawolf, etc) and was presented by Travis Barker’s clothing line yet it made minimal noise. Folks will wake up in 2011.

Biggest disappointments
Drake – Thank Me Later and Nicki Minaj – Pink Friday
Both of these albums were almost unprecedented in their anticipation, yet both were average at best. The still spawned hits but definitely let folks down; or perhaps the hype was just too much for them.

Predictions for 2011
Kanye will clean up at next years Grammys
Music will continue to get better, just as it did in 2010 after a shitty 2009
British music will absolutely kill shit. Already artists like Jessie J, Jamie Woon and James Blake are making some serious noise with their unique sounds, including the relatively new genre of post-dub step.

Here’s the single from Ye and Jigga’s collab project ‘Watch The Throne’. I dig it. It’s already spawned a gang of folks on Twitter taubout ‘going ham’, which is annoying as fuck but whatever. If this is what we should expect from the project, I’m vibed to hear the rest.

I was definitely waiting on this one, but I’m not sure if it’s the final version. There’s watermarks over some of the scenes (Getty Images and shit), the audio is terrible quality and it just doesn’t seem complete. Either way, it’s dope. Can’t wait for the HD version.

This is a bit of a long one, but Yeezy is talking some sense here. Peep dude speaking to the media on Michael Jackson, being cheated at award shows, Taylor Swift, George Bush and more. Really cool shit.

Kanye West - Runaway

Huge shouts to the homie Iyae for putting this one together. So most of y’all would have seen Kanye’s ‘Runaway’ film by now, though in case you haven’t…

So Iyae managed to put this little mini-project together by ripping the audio from the movie, as well as piecing together various parts of songs that have leaked, just so that y’all can enjoy a serious taste of Kanye’s new album, ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’, before it drops on November 22nd. Isn’t he a good bloke?
