Oh yes!! We made it! Check Volume 2 of the highly acclaimed HiPNOTT Records Takeover 2010 mixtape series, featuring The Movement Fam's G.C. produced banger 'Seasons Change'. Download it FREE below!
HiPNOTT Records delivers Vol. 2 of their two-part 2010 Takeover free download mixtape series. Presented by HIPHOPDX.com and KevinNottingam.com, this 22-track lyrically driven hip-hop montage is skillfully mixed by DJ Mark-1, who also created the intro, and displays a combination of emerging label signees alongside several hip-hop heavyweights. While Vol. 1 hit listeners with an aggressive trunk worthy hip-hop energy, Vol. 2 provides its antithesis with a more laid back, thought provoking, headphone hip-hop sound.
HiPNOTT Records 2010 Takeover Vol. 2 talent includes ArtOfficial, Amor Jones, DXA, Emilio Rojas, Epsilon Project, Hawdwerk & Jansport J, L.E.G.A.C.Y., Mach Five, MaG, Stevie Crooks, and Tunji of the group Inverse, as well as HiPNOTT artists Cymarshall Law, Has-Lo, E Reece, Spectec & Amiri, Jermiside & Danny Diggs, WEB and The Movement Fam (Cee & Bekah, Notion, Tommy Gunnz).
“The artists that we work with and those signed to HiPNOTT have the same things in common -- they want to be put on, they want the masses to hear their voice, they want to share their story,” HiPNOTT Records COO, Kareem Fort said. “We created the 2010 Takeover mixtapes to showcase a variety of artists who each have their own unique interpretation of what hip hop is to them, and we stand behind their perspective 100%.”

Shouts to the labelmate homie K. Sparks on this video, filling y'all in on his new project with G.C. and signing to HiPNOTT Records.
The big homie G.C. done came with a special gift for y'all to lead in the new year with...G.C. on the Beats, Volume 1. This is a really solid collection of a bunch of his favourite joints from the various artists he's worked with. Cee & Bekah's 'Ven Aqui' makes an appearance here in full, the only place you can get it for now (until The Soul Movement Originals drops next year)...
From Kev:
"We have one more exclusive mixtape that we are dropping today and this one is a personal fav as it is from the sole producer that I manage.
2009 has been a very productive year for G.C., who we first heard of in our weekly remix contests at KevinNottingham.com. Since then, he has worked with quite a handful of artists, such as MaG, K. Sparks, Trav Williams, Jermiside, and Punchlyne & Fokis. We decided to put together a collection of some of G.C.’s best work thus far. This is G.C. on the Beats, Volume 1!
Any support is greatly appreciated!"
G.C. and Tokyo Cigar are THE CAVE KINGZ - bringing it back to that stone age, raw, uncut hip hop - beats and rhymes. First track off the Cave Kingz EP (Before There Was Fire......).
Full-length album coming soon on HiPNOTT Records!

Ahhh shit...some more free music fo' that ass. This time it's from our HiPNOTT Records labelmate G.C. and the homie Tokyo Cigar (who produced a joint on our recent Remix Album), who come together (pause) as The Cave Kingz. Peep...
"This morning we have a free EP release from two of the DMV's most talented up and comers. HiPNOTT producer G.C. has teamed up with emcee/producer Tokyo Cigar to create an EP reminiscent of grimey 90s hip hop. The lyrics are raw and the production knocks. Upon first listen, you may hear a strong Wu-Tang influence.
These 5 tracks are just a morsel of hip hop that you will hear from these two before the summer is out. HiPNOTT’s own G.C. has been mad at work and has two more releases coming soon. A hip hop album with emcee MaG and an R&B EP with HiPNOTT’s First Lady, Dasha.
Tokyo Cigar, on the other hand, is a master at both the beats and on the mic. Leaving the production solely to G.C. for this release, Tokyo steps front and center behind the mic. Emcees, look out for KevinNottingham.com's ever MC Contest hosted by Tokyo Cigar on the beats next month!
And if you think we’re the only site that recognizes these great talents, you’re wrong. G.C. was recently featured at BigMouthsOnline and Tokyo Cigar had a feature over at WYDU. Props to both of these guys doing it up big!"
Once again, the homie Kev just don't stop. Got another couple of dope thangs for ya that we blatantly stole from K-Nott, yet again.
First up, Kev's producer G.C. has laced another banger, this time for Canadian MC Malicious aka Mr. Malish, called 'My Calling', the first leak off Malish's upcoming mixtape, and it's a heater.

Next up, here's a couple cats that I'm vibin' off lately. Producer Nobody Famous (you'll be hearing a LOT more about dude and The Fam very soon) and Wax (from the Wax & EOM project) are two of the most talented cats out right now, and they've linked up to bang out a joint for Nobody Famous's new album, Order Up! Vol. 3 (Chicken & Waffles) called 'Rowdy'. Peep the video. Also, you can check out the first leak from the album, 'Mary'.
This one is a bit of a straight up rip from Big Kev's blog, but his producer G.C. (who's dope as hell) has laced a beat for Fokis, who banged out a fresh joint called 'Show Me The Money'. Here's what Kev has to say about it:
"Back in the limelight again with the premier single from his up and coming project is the hardest working L.E.S lyricist, Fokis. Calling on acquaintances from his Walk Through MySpace project which was available for free download last year and which featured some of the brightest up and coming stars from across the US, Fokis teamed with Mr. eXquire and E-Cashe$ on his new joint “Show Me The Money”. I’m also happy to say that this is the first beat recorded to from G.C’s Freshness Sampler which we put out a few months ago.
Produced by Maryland native but the Utah residing emerging beatsmith G.C, “Show Me The Money” is about making the most of what you have during this economic battle we all find ourselves fighting. “During these hard times its important to find something to take your mind off of all the stress and try and find some joy,” explained Fokis. “So I reached out to Mr. eXquire & E-Cashe$ who are two very talented and hungry up and coming emcees and well the result was this, a joint to have a bit of fun with basically.”
“Show Me The Money” will be featured on the up and coming project from Fokis, MY NAME IS FOKIS a collection of work old and new which will be available in the coming months."
