Once again curated by Cee and Tiffany Alexis, the mixtape takes you on a journey that perfectly complements the most romantic night of the year. With synth pop from UK alt R&B baritone Kwabs to trap soul from Bryson Tiller, smooth future soul from IAMNOBODI to reggae-infused rock from Joss Stone, minimal indie pop from Banks to moving slow jams from Aussie Jarryd James, thug love songs from Sean Price (RIP) to island vibes from Jonathan Emile, 'The Valentine's Day Mixtape Volume 8' has something for every taste.

I've been following these guys since I sparked up watching them open for Damian Marley in April 2006. Their debut 'Stand Up' was dope, and I've seen this band grow and travel around the world to become on the verge of making some serious noise with their latest LP 'Worldwize'. Check their latest two songs, both are fucking brilliant. Can't wait to see em on Saturday avo here at Canadian Music Week, and hopefully again next week in Texas.
So Canadian Music Week kicks off on Tuesday, and I'm vibed as hell. I'll be hitting the panels and checking out a bunch of dope acts over the week, really looking forward to it. Much love to Fiona Bloom for bringing the French reggae band DUB INC down to rock this week. The guys will be playing this Thursday 10th March at Rivoli (Queen St W) and Friday 11th March at El Mocambo (Spadina Ave and College St). Don't miss it!
Peace to the brethren Suundjaye for sharing this one. Toronto soulstress Aria has an incredible voice and presence, and this video of her performing 'Change Is Good' is a perfect example of that. Pure dopeness. Peep game after the jump.
I fucks with Junior Reid. Dude is crazy. This joint isn't amazing but Cassidy kinda works, and Mr Reid's infectious vocal tone gets ya, even when he ain't at his catchiest. Weeeeeeerd.
