The homie Cyclops done dropped a video in support of his latest LP, 'When Inspiration Hits'. This is a short and sweet banger produced by the kid Tokyo Cigar (new mixtape coming soon!). I really fucks with these dudes. Their music is dope, and their work ethic is ridiculous. Peep game.

The big homie Purpose just dropped his latest mixtape, If The CIty Had A Voice Pt II. P is most definitely one of my favourite MCs in Australia, so I'm vibed as hell for the LP. Y'all can download it free from the link below, and in the meantime, check the joint 'While The Whole World Sleeps', which is a soul banger.
I gotta be honest, I don't even remember what the song was like in this video. I was high as hell when I watched it. I checked it coz I knew Rusko is a dope dubstep producer, and that Kristina Rose is in it. Visuals are fresh, and let's assume the tune is boss too.

We caught these cats at SXSW last week, and we were blown away. Here's the South Dakota boys' video for 'Sara' off their self-titled EP.
Always been a big Classified fan. His latest album 'Handshakes and Middle Fingers' is about to drop, and it looks like I'm late on posting these videos. 'Ups and Downs' is the latest joint.
Y'all might have noticed the lack of blog posts in the last week or so. That's because we've been in Austin, Texas at SXSW, bitches. We barely had internet, plus with the whole attending panels/checking out a billion shows/drinking all day, there just wasn't time, goddamnit. So in the last fortnight, I've been at Canadian Music Week and SXSW and seen so many incredible shows, it'll take me all day to write about it. Some of the highlights from CMW included: Shad, French reggae outfit Dub Inc, Eric Hutchinson and Janelle Monae. SXSW awesomeness came courtesy of folks like James Blake, City & Colour, Shad (I saw him like 3 times in a week(, Slaughterhouse, South Dakota soul rockers ShowBaby, Los Rakas, Collie Buddz (STRAAIIIIIIGHT!), Yuck, J. Cole, Melanie Fiona, the AMAZING Marsha Ambrosius, Miguel, Bliss N Eso, Blue King Brown (and having dinner with the band after, awesome people), Black Milk, Curren$y, and Big K.R.I.T. I actually nearly cried when I was denied entry to see Jamie Woon on the last night. He was at the top of my list and I don't know why I left seeing him til the last day. I was genuinely gutted.
The most upsetting part was that Blu and Odd Future both sucked ass. Check out the video below from a vlogger we met at the panels, Anthony Fantano from The Needle Drop.com. Anthony and fellow vlogger Sami (and another dude, forgot the name, sorry guys) were the funnest bastards I've ever encountered on a panel, so it was both entertaining and informative. Plus Anthony was a real nice guy, so double win. But check his review of his SXSW experience below, particularly the Odd Future review, which is spot on.
The big homie Purpose outta Adelaide is about to drop the follow up to the first volume of his 'If The City Had A Voice' series, and if the below track is any indication, this shit is gonna be a banger. Peep the press release below, and watch out for the album later this year. There might even be a feature from Bekah...
Leading up to ‘If The City Had a Voice II’, Purpose has released 5 projects, toured the country and continued to grow both in and out of the studio as he built up his resume. This mixtape serves as a pre-cursor to his debut solo album 'Where It Starts' DROPPING LATE 2011
It is a collaborative effort with DJ Hacksaw (Pagen Elypsis, Battlehoggs, Train of Thought) and is made up of both original music and a handful of remixes. This release paints an avid picture of a new era in Australian Hip-Hop music and offers a peak into the future of an artist that has laid a solid foundation both locally and internationally.
It features Pagen Elypsis, Kilenm (USA), Arkaic (UK), Motive & Prime and features production by Purpose, Eslev & Zarkov.
I've been following these guys since I sparked up watching them open for Damian Marley in April 2006. Their debut 'Stand Up' was dope, and I've seen this band grow and travel around the world to become on the verge of making some serious noise with their latest LP 'Worldwize'. Check their latest two songs, both are fucking brilliant. Can't wait to see em on Saturday avo here at Canadian Music Week, and hopefully again next week in Texas.
Now THIS is sick. There ain't enough creativity in Hip Hop these days, and Pharoahe done raised the bar. The first single to his latest LP, 'W.A.R.', is 'Clap (One Day)' (produced by M-Phazes I believe), and this is the visuals for it. It's essentially a 10 minute mini-movie and it's brilliantly put together. Peep game.
So Canadian Music Week kicks off on Tuesday, and I'm vibed as hell. I'll be hitting the panels and checking out a bunch of dope acts over the week, really looking forward to it. Much love to Fiona Bloom for bringing the French reggae band DUB INC down to rock this week. The guys will be playing this Thursday 10th March at Rivoli (Queen St W) and Friday 11th March at El Mocambo (Spadina Ave and College St). Don't miss it!
Asking Alexandria are one of my favourite hardcore bands, and here's their latest video for 'A Prophecy' which is from their debut 'Stand Up And Scream'. Love the rain effect, looks sick on the cymbals.
