Back in April 2017, Notion delivered his well-received debut album "Heart On My Sleeve". Less than 18 months later, he's back with an 8-track collaborative EP, "Notion Island Vol. 1".
Positioned as the beginning of the "Notion Island" series, which will see Notion team up with one producer for a full-length project, this first volume puts Notion and Toronto-based up-and-comer Egward in the lab to create a soulful, introspective yet head noddin' piece of work.
The smooth opener "This Love's For Real" sets the pace, where Notion breaks down his passion for Hip Hop and where it's taken him; the hilarious "D*ckhead" will have you literally LOLing; the tough, grimy "Enguard (It's So Hard)" will get your neck snapping over dirty samples and tough bars; while the only two collabs, "There Is Beauty" with Cee and "1000 Years" with Toronto legend D-Sisive, offer a soulful yet bangin' sonic contrast to wrap up the project.
