Curated by Cee and Tiffany Alexis, 'The Valentine's Day Mixtape Volume 7: High In Lust' features cuts from the likes of the smooth Elijah Blake, the incredible Kwabs, indie pop starlet Banks, the soulful Jack Garratt, British production team The Code, the amazing SOHN, fellow Aussie MC AllDay, OVO's Majid Jordan, the sultry Doja Cat, the powerful Paolo Nutini and even a feature from Cee and Aria Zenua on their Illmind-produced love song 'No Conversation' (from Cee's internationally charting 'This Is All I Know' 2014 debut LP).

We created a campaign via IndieGoGo to help us raise the funds required to make this tour a reality - we've included a bunch of cool perks, and we appreciate anything you can contribute. Even if you can't help financially, just sharing the campaign via your blog or your social networks is extremely valuable to us.
Cee linked up with Philly resident Hezekiah (Bilal, The Roots, Talib Kweli) for this soulful head nodder. Shot in Mile End (the hipster HQ of Montreal) by long-time collaborator Richard Bastarache, the visuals for 'It Ain't Over' are simple yet fun, as the contagious energy of the two MCs perfectly compliments the positive vibes and strong message of the track.
The Valentine's Day Mixtape Volume 6: Dream, Believe, Turn Up was inspired by the slogan of last summer's Under The Influence Of Music tour (with Wiz Khalifa, A$AP Rocky, B.o.B., Trinidad James and Joey Bada$$) - something ridiculous and funny, yet current. We didn't even really include many tunes you can 'turn up' to, so hopefully the irony isn't lost.
The second visual from Cee & Dr. MaD's critically acclaimed 'Steps To The Peak' EP has arrived! 'Another Day' - featuring The Movement Fam's Notion and Alaiz's Nox - was shot over at NBS (No Bad Sound) Studios in Côte-Des-Neiges, Montreal, in mid-summer last year.
It's actually a funny story. FlamesYall asked Cee to write a song for his upcoming sex-themed EP. Cee somehow managed to mis-read the email with the instructions and wrote the song that became 'PromNight', clearly off-topic. Instead of scrapping it and writing a new track, the two decided to release the tune as a single via Soundcloud. When Cee linked with Montreal-based videographer Richard Bastarache, they shot the video for the joint on location at Parc La Fontaine in the 514, and the rest is history.
"The Movement Fam's Notion (Toronto) and Cee (Montreal) teamed with Heavy Aux Records' Toronto native iLLvibe for a fresh, fun summer jam over one of Notion's productions; as the tangible chemistry between the three MCs became more evident, what began as a simple collaboration had now spawned something much larger and more exciting.
The project has been in the works since early 2013, with the official release currently pencilled in for the late summer. Nova Scotian-born Shane Russell of 9Block Productions, a regular collaborator with Cee on many of his projects this year, linked up with the boys to shoot (along with Richard Bastarache), direct and edit the video for the debut single from the EP, 'When The Chips Are Down'. The track speaks on the highs and lows of immigration, starting in a new place, and leaving your family to follow your dream.
#RoadTrippin is the first track from the EP, a soulful Hip Hop journey which encapsulates the imminent summer's carefree vibe of a bunch of friends jumping in a car and seeing where the road takes them.
The homie Citizen of The Understudies out in the Bay Area, California, hollered at Cee to jump on his latest single 'Ghosttown' produced by Digital Martyrs, which also features Kensho Kuma and Cyberclops of CandleSpit. Go 'head and cop the 3 track EP from iTunes!
The Movement Fam proudly presents Notion's debut music video for 'So Cold'. Directed and shot by Andrew Pierce in Toronto, Canada, shouts to the homies Eric, Ian and Jesse for making it happen, and much love to Shauna and Tiff (our lovely ladies). Y'all can cop the audio of the song free on Notion's Bandcamp.
"What better way to wrap up 2012 (the world might even end tomorrow, who knows?) than to drop an original track for y'all? This song was originally written and recorded in 2007 for my boy's compilation album. It kinda kicked around since then; I tried to finish it a few times, it just never worked. Until now. Weapon X is prolly my favourite MC out of Australia, and one of my biggest inspirations, so it was a blessing to work with dude. Stoked that it came out how it did. Enjoy." Ah yeah...brand new shit for November, right on time... This cut is from 'The Soul Movement Volume 2' sessions and even though it's more than 4 years old, it's still mad relevant. I got my dude Blest2 to rock with me; I love having other languages on my songs, and this cat - from Athens, Greece - flows the illest that I've heard in any language (aside from English). The classic Non Phixion beat brought out the best in everyone on this tune, and lyrically it nails where I'm at today. Enjoy.
I've done a couple joints with the homie outta the UK, FlamesYall. He hit me with a joint for his new sex-themed EP, and I done fucked it up by not adhering to the topic. This kinda worked to our advantage, as now we have a single and a feature on the HipHopSpeakEasy.com Hurricane Sandy mixtape. Take a listen to the tune on FlamesYall's SoundCloud, and huge shouts to Worgie and Daryl S. Tattoo for the ridiculously dope guitar, and Notion for the mix/extra production. We got a joint on our hands, here...
Of course, even though the blog has been out of action, the hustle hasn't quit. June was the last month of my monthly cuts leaking from 'The Indie Experiment' series, so get ready for some fresh shit come July.
Aaaaaaand we're kicking 2012 off with a foot to the balls, son. Notion plans to drop a track a month; and I'm gonna put my nuts on the line and say I'ma do it too.
So as promised, Nosh comes with the goods on his 'So Cold (Freestyle)'. Absolute banger, and you can download it free. Win.
Shouts to the homie LE for putting me onto Toronto native The Weeknd. Dude reminds me of The-Dream something crazy. I've been bumping this all day and it's growing on me the more I listen to it. Here are some of my faves, but be sure to download the free album 'House Of Balloons' from The Weeknd's website.
Toronto native iLLvibe has just released his latest LP, In The Streets Of iLLydelfia, for free, no less. The dude is a talented MC, with a great ear for production, bringing a solid album of Hip Hop Soul with a Toronto feel but a worldwide mindstate. Head over and grab the album, definitely highly recommended from The Fam. From iLLvibe:
10 years after I began releasing music, I figure.. maybe it's time I let you in. This album is me. In music. In this past year I had the priveledge of travelling to many beautiful places & have become inspired at a higher level then ever before. These songs were written & recorded throughout 2010, here in Toronto & overseas on tour. This is where I live, in a place where Hip Hop still feels good and the city is alive. So, Good People... ... This is fucking brilliant. A new social media application for bands to help each other connect with each others fans. Clearly this will appeal more to the up and comers, however it does have substantial benefits for the more established acts. Watch the video after the jump and spread the word.

The big homie Day Diz over at Moser Music Group just passed the word that they dropped a 2010 mixtape with all the joints that MMG released throughout the year, along with some bonuses. And of course, Diz threw in our collab joint, 'Gimme That', from 'The Soul Movement Volume 2' back in 2008, which still bangs. Cop this, and Merry Christmas!
