Trav Williams - IllTravis

You know I had to re-post this one.

Following from The Movement Fam remix competition, the homies Trav Williams and Kevin Nottingham got their Trav Williams/Illmatic remix joint crackin', something which Elzhi recently 'bit' lol. So it's all finished and ready for download, and it's a banger!

Peep the links and info after the jump.

"OK, so I caused a bit of a stir last week with that Trav Williams vs. Elzhi
post, but it's all good. IllTravis is officially ready for release.

Download Trav Williams - IllTravis

Check the original post on Kevin Nottingham.com

Over the course of 10 weeks, producers from all across the globe came
together to help create a vision... a vision to recreate a classic; to pay
homage to *Nas*' 1994 debut album *Illmatic*. *Trav Williams* came to me with this idea in the fall of 2008. I saw this as the perfect opportunity to hold a beat contest on the site and get everyone involved. As one of the five judges, I can say that picking the beats wasn't easy, but in the end I
think we all gave Trav some great material to work with. Trav quickly went into the studio and here you have... *IllTravis*.

From Trav:
Before anything and above all I got to thank all the winning producers for
thier hard work and effort and all the producers that submitted for even
trying, you are appreciated. G.C., S.2, DJ Qvali, Tokyo Cigar, JLH,
Digivillanous, EvolveAudio & Natown Legend
, you are respected.

Now...let me say this; this project ain't about "blowing up" off *Illmatic*; this project ain't about who don't like it; this project ain't about controversy; this project, just like all my shit, ain't about money; this project is something that I been wanting to do since my *Illmatic* tape popped on the school bus on a hot ass day many Mays ago. Realistically, I got a bucket list and this was on it. So I did it and before I grow up too much I hope to check a few more things off the list.

Needless to say, I hope y'all dig it. But I make music for people that want
to hear what I want to hear, so if you don't dig it, then you ain't one of
them people. But if you dig it, dig it; good look.

Ill Poetic remixes Joe Budden & Portishead: MM3rd

This remix album has been out for a while now floating around various review sites and blogs on the net. Seriously dope concept which adds another level to Joe Budden's grimey, thug intellects and similarly dark, haunting Portishead soundscapes which need no introduction.

You might recognise Ill Poetic from his various productions for Blueprint, Illogic and Wordsworth to name a few.

Vocals's from Budden's Mood Muzik 3 perfectly mashed with Portishead fantastic Third album of last year, plus a few other classic beats.

Justice & Kaos - The Pre-Season Mixtape

The homies Justice & Kaos are back for the first time since their debut EP, Turn It On, a couple years ago. This time the fellas have come with a brand new mixtape with only one feature - that's right, only one feature verse (from label-mate GMC) - and a real dope, interesting beat selection. They even ran with the whole 'White Men Can't Jump' theme, in the artwork and the audio samples from the movie throughout the tracks.

The boys have definitely stepped up, both lyrically and content-wise, and it's great to hear them rock shit on their own. It's actually dope to hear any artist bring some fresh product without relying on feature verses, so big ups for that bold move. The beat selection ranges from rocking over tunes from John Legend, OutKast, Little Brother, Michael Jackson, Scribe and original production from Kaos (Justice's ridiculously dope solo joint 'I'm A Star').

Definitely a fresh mixtape and I've already given this one a few rotations, and I'm finna bump this for a while. Big ups, boys!

Malicious

Once again, the homie Kev just don't stop. Got another couple of dope thangs for ya that we blatantly stole from K-Nott, yet again.

First up, Kev's producer G.C. has laced another banger, this time for Canadian MC Malicious aka Mr. Malish, called 'My Calling', the first leak off Malish's upcoming mixtape, and it's a heater.

Download Malicious - My Calling (produced by G.C.)

Next up, here's a couple cats that I'm vibin' off lately. Producer Nobody Famous (you'll be hearing a LOT more about dude and The Fam very soon) and Wax (from the Wax & EOM project) are two of the most talented cats out right now, and they've linked up to bang out a joint for Nobody Famous's new album, Order Up! Vol. 3 (Chicken & Waffles) called 'Rowdy'. Peep the video. Also, you can check out the first leak from the album, 'Mary'.

Die Jerm Die Remix Competition

No, this ain't got nothing to do with murdering innocent mispelled germs.

Just wanted to let the folks know about another dope remix competition the homies over at www.KevinNottingham.com are running at the moment. Fresh off of The Movement Fam and Trav Williams remix competitions, the next one for budding producers out there is for the homie Jermiside, for his upcoming Die Jerm Die mixtape, mixed by DJ Low Key.

There's two joints to remix for Die Jerm Die volumes 1 and 2 - 'Never Seen A Thing' and 'Crisis Times'. The former will feature on Vol 1 and the latter on Vol 2. So you have two chances to make the cut. This should be interesting...click the image to get the info.

Ahhhh yeah. This is my muthafuckin' shit.

Big big ups to Mr. Kevin Nottingham once again for the hook up http://www.blogger.com/post-create.g?blogID=908885750994611394on this.

So Kanye West's 'College Dropout' is one of the reason's The Movement Fam is making music today. And you could understand how finding a leak of a version of 'We Don't Care' (when it was called 'Drug Dealing') featuring GLC and Keisha Cole. Keisha is also my girl. Memories and shit. Love it.

Fokis - Show Me The Money feat Mr. eXquire & E-Cashe$ (prod by G.C.)

Fokis

This one is a bit of a straight up rip from Big Kev's blog, but his producer G.C. (who's dope as hell) has laced a beat for Fokis, who banged out a fresh joint called 'Show Me The Money'. Here's what Kev has to say about it:

"Back in the limelight again with the premier single from his up and coming project is the hardest working L.E.S lyricist, Fokis. Calling on acquaintances from his Walk Through MySpace project which was available for free download last year and which featured some of the brightest up and coming stars from across the US, Fokis teamed with Mr. eXquire and E-Cashe$ on his new joint “Show Me The Money”. I’m also happy to say that this is the first beat recorded to from G.C’s Freshness Sampler which we put out a few months ago.

Produced by Maryland native but the Utah residing emerging beatsmith G.C, “Show Me The Money” is about making the most of what you have during this economic battle we all find ourselves fighting. “During these hard times its important to find something to take your mind off of all the stress and try and find some joy,” explained Fokis. “So I reached out to Mr. eXquire & E-Cashe$ who are two very talented and hungry up and coming emcees and well the result was this, a joint to have a bit of fun with basically.”

“Show Me The Money” will be featured on the up and coming project from Fokis, MY NAME IS FOKIS a collection of work old and new which will be available in the coming months."

Emilio Rojas - Recession Proof

This cat has gotta be one of my favourite MC's right now. Emilio Rojas aka Raks One, Rochester, New York representative, is part of the homie J. Master's Same Plate Management stable, and is most definitely one of the hottest up and coming MC's. His guest verses smash every time without fail, his Phaze One project with M-Phazes is highly anticipated and from the sneak peek we heard, it's off the chain, and to tide us all over, Emilio linked with Legend and DJ Noodles to bring us Recession Proof.

Here's the official blurb:

"Emilio Rojas drops his highly anticipated new mixtape “Recession Proof”, presented by DJ Noodles and Legend. After dropping a slew of singles, popping up on radio shows, a steady stream of live performances, and MTV video play, Emilio follows up with his first official mixtape, featuring appearances by Stat Quo, Fashawn, Donny Goines and more, while Illmind, M-Phazes, Khrysis and others check in on the production tip."

Kevin Nottingham Presents The Movement Fam Remix Album

Kevin Nottingham Presents The Movement Fam Remix Album

It's finally here!!!!!

After maybe 6 months in the making, Kevin Nottingham Presents The Movement Fam Remix Album is in the building.

For those who aren't familiar with this, producers from around the world were able to download 12 acapellas from Notion's World Domi-NoTiOn and Cee & Bekah's The Soul Movement Volume 2 mixtapes, and submit remixes for this project. We had well over 100 remixes submitted, which blew our mind.

We ended up including remixes from producers from all over the planet, including Hungary, Belgium, USA, Denmark and Australia. We worldwide, baby! And if any producers out there wanna remix our songs for the hell of it (a couple cats have hit me up already about it), you can still download the acapellas from the original Kevin Nottingham Movement Fam Remix contest page.

Big ups to ALL the producers who submitted remixes, there a lot of fire and it made our job pretty hard! I can't thank Kev enough, though. Dude held us down when it got difficult for a bit there, never gave up, and we got this one over the line. Plus it's a hot ass album!

My apologies to Isbjerg for misspelling your name, homie!! Shit, my bad! And HUGE props to Notion for lacing the artwork! Boom!

Artutabr and dani_46 (no idea who they are) put together this wicked compilation of lesser known Kanye tracks. Kev recently put up a bunch of DOPE Kanye compilations and even he was blown away by this one. The boys even got Fred Hart, who did some crazy artwork for the 808's & Heartbreak single covers, to do their artwork. Amazing.

The Valentine's Day Mixtape Launch

Big ups to everyone that came down to support The Movement Fam as we launched DJ Grain & Notion's Valentine's Day mixtape on Saturday 14th February, at the Blue Tile Lounge in Melbourne.

We had a great turnout, we all looked fresh to death, and Chris from Fading Hour (also the drummer for The Movement Fam band) ripped shit up. This was definitely one of the most fun we've had on stage. Check the pics after the jump. Oh and shouts to Esscay and Thrizz for the photos!

Hell Rell comes wit a new one, Dipset fans pay attention!

Dipset fans, listen up.

Just eight months since "Black Mask Black Gloves" reached #9 on the Billboard Top Rap Albums chart, Hell Rell returns with "Get In Line or Get Lined Up" on March 10th.

The Dipset member known for his tough street talk, jail time, and crazy over the phone freestyles, says what you hear on the record is one hundred percent Hell Rell.

Hell Rell

"All of my songs are real. Nothing is sugar coated. They are all full of substance," Rell says. "Rapping just comes naturally to me. I don't write rhymes down on paper and I don't practice. It just flows off the top of the dome."

Packed with 15 tracks, "Get In Line or Get Lined Up" is sure to keep Hell Rell and Dipset fans satisfied.

"Get In Line or Get Lined Up" will be released through Hellz Kitchen' Entertainment.

Good to see Dipset still on they grind. Check it out. I'm excited haha.

Peace.
