This is amazing. Wow. It reminds me of Tommy Gunnz' phone reading out his text messages.

I ain't even need to say anything here. Stevie Wonder gig. Prince comes out. They play 'Superstition'. WIN.
I'm ALL about this dude right now (pause). After being put onto City & Colour earlier this year, I'd been a casual fan. My interest grew after discovering that Canadian Dallas Green, who essentially is City & Colour (based off his name - Dallas, City. Green, Colour. Genius), is also the singer for hardcore group Alexisonfire.
I found that even though I'm currently in possession of more music than I can cope with, I kept going back to City & Colour; the warm, heartfelt and often dark songs just resonated with me. Then this weekend I learned a bunch of the songs on guitar and now I'm officially obsessed. I even ordered a tshirt from their website.
Anyway, check the videos for two of my favourite City & Colour songs. The first is 'Coming Home', from his debut 'Somtimes', and the second is 'Sleeping Sickness' from the 'Bring Me Your Love' album. Enjoy.
For those of y'all who have signed up to The Movement Fam eNewsletter (take a look to your right to get on that), y'all should already have downloaded the exclusive pre-release for our live mixtape, which we recorded at The Evelyn Hotel back in March. And now we're finally droppin' this thang.
This gig was our first live set in over a year, so it was a solid return to the stage for the whole Fam, and we decided to record it; and I'm really glad we did. We're truly happy with this project, expertly EQ'd by Notion, as it's a great reflection of where we're at musically right now, plus it's extra poignant as myself, Bekah and Notion are about to shoot off to Canada so this line up may not happen for a while after our goodbye gig.
So head on over to the new The Movement Fam Bandcamp page (shouts to Iyae for the dope header image) and cop the tape, as well as our older crew mixtapes such as The Valentine's Day series, our Kevin Nottingham Remix album and more.
This is some cool shit. As soon as the phone came out the box, these fellas shot the first official video to be completed entirely on the iPhone 4. The song itself isn't too bad, and the fellas ain't claiming it to be the best video either - just the first. Check it out...
Jazmine is amazing. This is her new single, possibly. Or just a leak. Or a mixtape joint seeing as it borrows from Mary J. and Nas. Either way, the broad is the truth. Check it out.
So I have no idea what these cats are saying either, but this is produced by my homie Sima out of Hungary, and the beat is sick. Sima tells me that this joint is getting play on the music video channels and radio in his native land, which is great news. Check it out for the beat, if nothing else. Oh and if you're feeling it, get at me for production :)
Oh we back! Our model grind has been a bit more vicious of late, as we gear up for the re-launch of TheMovementFam.com with a brand new layout, artist pages, and all that good stuff.
So as per how most of my model discoveries happen, I was trawling Facebook at work (it's kinda part of my job lol) and I stumbled upon one of the loveliest young ladies I've seen in a while, Miss Shushila Takao. I was pretty much immediately struck by her natural beauty, and the more photos I saw of her, the more this was confirmed. I think I developed a bit of a crush lol.
So, loyal TheMovementFam.com readers, it's my pleasure to present this young lady, who is well spoken, driven and extraordinarily smokin' (check her background). Y'all definitely gonna need to check out her websites...
Cee: Whatʼs your name?
Shushila: Shushila Takao aka Shii.
Cee: Where are you from?
Shushila: New Zealand, Christchurch & Nelson, but I'm French, Maori (Native New Zealand), and Indian.
Cee: How many years have you been modeling?
Shushila: I've been modeling/performing about 9 years, I was the youngest model/performer in the Adults section for an internationally known event called the World of Wearable arts (WOW), and just picked up from there.
Cee: What are the misconceptions people commonly have about models that are untrue?
Shushila: We don't eat? untrue, I love food!! I'm not fussy and I'm not high maintenance. I'm very down to earth.
Cee: What shows, videos, magazines, etc. have you been featured in?
Shushila: Remix magazine, Images Mag, Wild Tomato various issues, World of Wearable arts shows, NZ stamps & magazines. NZ Nature catalogue, Germany Vox TV.
Cee: What photographers have you worked with?
Shushila: Bob Reid of California, Daniel Allen of the UK, Glenn Bisdee, Sterling images, Angela Henderson of Auckland NZ and other NZ Photographers.
Cee: What photographers would you like to work with?
Shushila:Maya Guez WWW.MAYAGUEZPHOTO.COM.
Cee: Can you describe the grind of a model trying to break into the industry?
Shushila: Persistence, resilience, perseverance, determination, focus and humility.
Cee: Any words for the ladies out there that have aspirations of entering the modeling industry?
Shushila: If it's what you want then go for it, but place nice too, it can be very competitive, there's no need to step on others to get where you wanna be. stay true to yourself, and be careful.
Cee: What's your plans from here?
Shushila: I get asked that a lot, people wanna see me grow and I love that support, at the moment I'm doing make-up for photoshoots and video clips as well as modelling. I would love to be the fresh face of the entertainment industry. The leading lady in Will Smith's next film, and feature in some of the hottest R&B music video clips...
Cee: Hit us with your contact details for folks who want to see more!

I think I mentioned recently the fact that I'm not one for taking the piss of Hip Hop. Usually it's corny and stupid as fuck, and it shits me. However, this lil joint, courtesy of misscoca, is classic.
Dude is hilariously awesome. Apparently the boss heard him rapping and told him he could make videos to promote the company. And now he's a mini internet celebrity. Bangskis.

There are certain things I miss about England. Sausage rolls, Notting Hill carnival, Walking around London, the clubs etc. One of the things I miss the most is the people. Not the snooty rude muthafuckas, but the normal working class, everyday people. It was such a diverse mix of individuals that it was crazy. The ravers, cool kids, hip hop heads, football hooligans, pub crawlers, smart kids, FLY chicks (a fit bird with British accent is still the biggest turn on for me), West Indians, Pakistani’s etc It was a fucking crazy melting pot of Neighborhoods and little worlds within itself. When I was over there I would get so caught up in life that I would never sightsee. Running the streets at night with my cousins was fun, dangerous and ALWAYS interesting. The spots and lives there were breeding grounds for crazy stories.
I said all that to say this. Those same people I spoke about were dramatized perfectly for this movie. Guy Ritchie dug up the best of England’s worst and polished them up for the screen in this movie. Although the story spans 3 different countries. The heart of the story is in merry old England. The characters in the story are memorable as hell. I cant say the word “Bonjour” without picturing Bullet tooth Tony (Vinnie Jones) slamming some dues head in the car door while some 80’s pop plays in the background. Sol, Brick top, Mickey (man this was the moment I realized the Brad Pitt was a fucking ILL actor) and of course Turkish (Jason Statham). All the characters, apart from their various personality quirks, stuck out for one strong reason: DIALOGUE. Man listen, Everybody in this movie was coming out their face in style. Few movies have had me laughing my ass off as much as this. If you’re a rapper, this is a flick your gonna love cause it makes you wanna step your pen game up. Trust me. The “Desert Eagle POINT five o” speech alone is worth the price of admission.
The other part of the equation is the sequencing. The way certain things are hidden from plain sight adds another layer of humor to the scenes they are used for. Scenes also cut in and out in ways that when pieced together play like a classic episode of “Seinfeld”. The technique of one character setting off a chain of events that affect everybody in the film is used to perfection here (when you see the milk scene you’ll know what I mean). Guy Ritchie really pieced together a well though out gem. Stuff like the “I’m coming to London” section had me like “DAMN!!! Dude wasn’t playing”. I feel it was Tarantino influenced in certain bits but what the hell Tarantino himself was influenced by others so it’s just the natural cycle of creation. Guy Ritchie really put his stamp on this movie and consolidated his own crime flick sub genre style. Previously seen on his other masterpiece, “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels”.
Even if anyone say’s that the movie didn’t “innovate” the gangster genre, you cant tell me it’s not entertaining. This is one of those movies I’ve watched dozens of times and it never get’s old. Seriously. A couple of months back they showed this “Snatch” every other day on cable. I always caught it when ever I saw it was on. It’s like “The Infamous” by Mobb Deep. You pop it in wanting to hear like 2 songs but you always wind up listening to the whole thing. Truly a classic.
So now, tell me one thing...”Do you know what "nemesis" means?”
Following on from the Cipha Sounds video a couple days ago, Notion put me onto this one. Wow. Fucking amazing. I lost it, damn near cried at the end.
'You are gay to me, and that's OK with me, but I still hate your pants.' GOLD.
These Levi Pioneer Sessions look fresh as hell. This one is John Legend and The Roots, check the info from Okayplayer:
"The latest release from the Levi's Pioneer Sessions features a collabo from The Roots and John Legend. "Levi's Pioneer Sessions 2010 Revival Recordings bring together today's pioneering musicians to re-craft the classic songs that inspired their sound." The Roots and John Legend give us a stirring rendition of Ernie Hines' "Our Generation." This track will also appear on JL and The Roots' upcoming collabo album, Wake Up, which is set to drop September 21st. Check after the jump for a behind the scenes look at the song's creation."
After both dropping albums in recent weeks, Eminem and The Roots team up on Jimmy Fallon. Of course, The Roots are Jimmy's house band, which I still don't get. Where do those dudes find enough time in the day?
Still not sure what's up with Pink being on the album version of this track. Glad she wasn't around for this one.
Classic joint this one. Really glad to see Em back in the spotlight amongst the big names in hip hop. Hard to believe this track is almost a decade old but its an undeniable classic now.
Jay never gets enough credit for standing up on this one because Em just completely bodied it.
I've been copping a LOT of shit from the homies lately for my adoption of skinny jeans. It ain't really a reflection of fashion for me, it sorta came to be due to my burgeoning taste in music. But for some reason, it just ain't that accepted in Hip Hop.
Check out Cipha Sounds going shopping in Harlem for his own pair of skinny jeans. lol @ Snooki!
Y'all are prolly sick of Drake. I'm getting there, but fuck it, these performances are kinda cool. Band sounds tight.
I checked out the MTV doco last night, really, really inspiring, especially for us. We have essentially the same tools, we just gotta up our marketing game. Made me realise that we can fucking do this shit. Anyway, check the vids...
Y'all might recall we recently posted the new project from A-Diction, Syntax and Whisper entitled In Good Company. That's some dope shit right there.
The homies have put together a video documenting the making of the project, with candid interviews, inside information and some funny moments. Really cool stuff, check it out.
The big homie Hustle Beats has been a big supporter of The Movement Fam from the jump. Coming out of Sydney, by way of Toronto, Canada, my dude is a talented producer, blogger and straight up hustler, and his grind is definitely something to admire.
Hustle has released a gang of mixtapes when he was in TO, and from what I understand this is the first disc that he's released out of Australia (homie, correct me if I'm wrong!). Y'all might have caught our single from the tape, 'Livin' This Life' with the other big homie from TO, Theology3, which we dropped a month or two back.
Finally, the tape, entirely produced by Hustle, dropped today and y'all can cop it below for free. Eighteen tracks, MCs and vocalists from all over the globe - y'all can't go wrong.
Make sure you roll past my dude's blog, iHustle Daily, and say what up!

At first I was really diggin' J. Cole. 'Lights Please' was one of my favourite joints from last year. Then he kinda just went bland. But this joint has kinda brought him back up there for me.
Video is cool; looks like it was shot in one take but I doubt it. Joint is dope too; verses are fresh and quite tech and witty, and the hook is catchy and simple enough to stick in your head all day. Keen as for the album now.
I think I totally missed the boat on this one. Apparently it's been out for a minute but I only caught it today. Oh well. Never claimed to be first at this blog shit lol.
The Roots fans should dig this. Is that Black Thought singing at the start? I think the album might be out...
