MovieHole - The HoleCast Episode 002

So I gotta shout out the homie Clint from MovieHole for the love on their latest HoleCast Episode 002.

With over 100K downloads for their first episode, there's no doubt that the following eps will kill it too. The guys played the Cee & Bekah single, 'Ain't No Mountain', which features Notion, from 'The Soul Movement Originals' which drops September 11th, and 'Livin' This Life', which is another Cee & Bekah cut with Theology3.

The Fam Moves show - new addition!

Aight, we have a new addition to our double launch gig/goodbye party here in Melbourne on September 11 @ John Curtin Hotel.

The homie Profecy, who we've known and worked with since he was 15, is rolling through all the way from Brisbane, and bringing the other homie Jae Druitt from Sydney with him.

They'll be rocking songs from his upcoming debut EP "Let The Music Play" which will be out September, and this is not only P's first Melbourne show, but his first trip to our fine city.

Check out Profecy's tunes and get ready...

Notion - On The Corner of Notion & 9th: A Tribute To 9th Wonder

And it's here! After around a year or so in the making, Notion has finally dropped his third solo mixtape, 'On The Corner of Notion & 9th: A Tribute To 9th Wonder'. This 18 track opus sees Notion flex his skills entirely over various 9th Wonder productions from throughout his career, and the chemistry is palpable. The tape is proudly presented by The Movement Fam, Kevin Nottingham.com, Hip Hop Update.com and Peoples Republic of Clothing - we can't thank y'all enough for all your help and support with this project.

Y'all would have caught the first two leaks from the project, 'Mastermind' and 'Honey' featuring Cee & Bekah, but y'all might also remember 'Don't Rush Me' from the HiPNOTT Records compilation in early 2009.

Rolling through to help out Nosh on vocal duties are New Zealand's KB, Whisper, Theory, Micnificent and of course, Bekah, Tommy Gunnz and Cee.

You can download Notion's 'On The Corner of Notion & 9th: A Tribute To 9th Wonder' FREE right now! Spread the word!

Featuring collabs with Whisper, New Zealand's KB, Detect and The Movement Fam crew (Tommy Gunnz, Bekah, Cee, Theory and Micnificent), and every song is a 9th Wonder beat, in tribute to one of the greatest producers of our time.

Tokyo Cigar - The Fab 5

The big homie Tokyo Cigar done did it again. This dude is a fucking beast, straight up. I have never met anybody in the industry as prolific as Mr Cigar, and with every project, I'm more and more impressed with what I hear. Dude is a musician, the shit is mad tech.

So this latest project is called 'The Fab 5', and it's a musical dedication to five blogs (all of them happen to be awesome sites in their own right, and ran by some real supportive dudes), including The Movement Fam.com. The five sites recommended - KevinNottingham.com, WakeYourDaughterUp, HailMegaTron.net, WhenGiantsMeet.com and us - are musically represented with tracks that somehow totally nail the overall vibe of the site. Our track features some audio from Bekah and I in a YouTube video over a crazy soul banger.

Seriously, this shit is crazy. I just had a hash cookie so I'm struggling right now, but cop this.

On The Corner of Notion & 9th: First Leak plus The Fam Moves show

It's finally here! Man, it's been a hectic ride. Not only are we all trying to organise moving our lives to another continent, but The Movement Fam are in the midst of dropping two projects in the next month, along with putting the launch gig/goodbye show together. Things is wild right now, however we can now confirm that Notion's third mixtape, 'On The Corner of Notion & 9th: A Tribute to 9th Wonder' will officially be released via The Movement Fam Records on Friday 20th August 2010!

We can now release the first leak from the tape, 'Mastermind', a headnodding 9th beat with Notion's heated delivery. Check it out, and stay tuned to Notion's Bandcamp at 2pm (AEST) on August 20 (midnight east coast US time) for the release of the tape!

While we're at it, here's the flyer for our goodbye party/double launch gig in Melbourne before we head off to Toronto on them one way tickets. It's the official launch of both Notion's 'On The Corner of Notion & 9th: A Tribute to 9th Wonder' mixtape and Cee & Bekah's debut album/compilation 'The Soul Movement Originals', and both Notion and Cee & Bekah will be doing an hour long set showcasing their new projects as well as covering their back catalogue.

Headlining the evening is fellow Soul Hop band You N Ur Music, a personal fave of ours and top blokes as well. Expect an especially scorching set. And opening the night is new comers Infinite & TruStylz, who are fresh faces in the scene that will definitely leave y'all vibed.

Fading Hour featuring The Movement Fam - Celestine (Remix) LIVE @ The Evelyn Hotel

Fading Hour are a prog rock band out of Melbourne, and their drummer, Chris Ferre, often rocks with us when we play live.

One of their tracks, 'Celestine', from their debut EP 'Beyond The Void', was so dope that myself, Notion and Bekah just had to jump on it. We recorded it at Wiseguy Studios, and this video was the first time we all performed it live. This was at the Evelyn Hotel on Saturday May 8th 2010.

Peep game...

The Movement Fam LIVE @ The Evelyn Hotel free mixtape

For those of y'all who have signed up to The Movement Fam eNewsletter (take a look to your right to get on that), y'all should already have downloaded the exclusive pre-release for our live mixtape, which we recorded at The Evelyn Hotel back in March. And now we're finally droppin' this thang.

This gig was our first live set in over a year, so it was a solid return to the stage for the whole Fam, and we decided to record it; and I'm really glad we did. We're truly happy with this project, expertly EQ'd by Notion, as it's a great reflection of where we're at musically right now, plus it's extra poignant as myself, Bekah and Notion are about to shoot off to Canada so this line up may not happen for a while after our goodbye gig.

So head on over to the new The Movement Fam Bandcamp page (shouts to Iyae for the dope header image) and cop the tape, as well as our older crew mixtapes such as The Valentine's Day series, our Kevin Nottingham Remix album and more.

PHustle Beats - Borderline Vol 2 Mixed by VJ K.M.X.E.

The big homie Hustle Beats has been a big supporter of The Movement Fam from the jump. Coming out of Sydney, by way of Toronto, Canada, my dude is a talented producer, blogger and straight up hustler, and his grind is definitely something to admire.

Hustle has released a gang of mixtapes when he was in TO, and from what I understand this is the first disc that he's released out of Australia (homie, correct me if I'm wrong!). Y'all might have caught our single from the tape, 'Livin' This Life' with the other big homie from TO, Theology3, which we dropped a month or two back.

Finally, the tape, entirely produced by Hustle, dropped today and y'all can cop it below for free. Eighteen tracks, MCs and vocalists from all over the globe - y'all can't go wrong.

Make sure you roll past my dude's blog, iHustle Daily, and say what up!

Interview with Cee on MissCoca.com

Misscoca.com

Social media enthusiasts may well be familiar with www.MissCoca.com, a relatively new marketing, fashion, pop culture, lifestyle, beauty and social media blog that is really making some waves on the interwebs.

So Lauren Ridgway, the founder of www.MissCoca.com, kindly contacted me to make me the May interviewee for 'Stars in the Blogosphere', which was the first interview I'd ever done that wasn't exclusively about music; it was more Craig than Cee. And it was really refreshing, and fun, to put more of me out there than my music persona.

So check out the interview, and while you're there, take a squizz around the blog. Folks in Melbourne and Sydney will love the weekly JobOps post, which is getting crazy hits.

On behalf of TheMovementFam.com, and of course myself, I'd like to warmly thank Lauren for the great interview and kind words. Check it out, folks!

Cee & Bekah feat Theology3 - Livin' This Life

Aight, so this is some FRESH shit right here.

We were lucky enough to work with the big homie Theology3, outta Toronto, Canada. My boy Hustle Beats was putting together his new mixtape 'Borderline', and he hit us up for a joint. I suggested that we work with Theo, who we knew from appearing on his radio show, Stylistik Endeavours, when we were in TO back in '08. Hustle made it happen and BANG, we made a classic.

We recently performed this joint in Melbourne and it went down real well (minus Theo, unfortunately). Cop this track as a FREE download below, and hit us with any feedback!

The Movement Fam LIVE @ Evelyn - Part 7

So here's the final video from The Movement Fam's set the other weekend at Evelyn. This is the first time we'd performed 'Scream At Ya Muhhfuckin' at the end of a set, and it went down amazingly well, so I reckon we'll keep rockin' it to end on a high...

Melbourne heads, just a reminder, hit us up for tickets to our next gig on April 23rd at Espy Gershwin Room, supporting the Impregnito EP Launch! Should be HUGE!

The Movement Fam LIVE @ Evelyn - Part 1

So this weekend was pretty damn hectic for The Fam. We did our first show in over a year - yeah, I know. Fucked up, right? We much preferred to stay in the studio and work on the 10+ projects we have going, however we realised just how overdue we were coz damn near every other day people kept asking when they could catch us live. So the homie Adam King from You 'n UR Music hit us up to rock at their single launch and it was a wrap!

The show was incredible. I haven't seen the Evelyn that packed in ages, and I was genuinely surprised and grateful for the love we were shown. I think it showed in our performance, as we're all a lot more confident of our music, so even though we were a tad rusty with our stage game, it didn't really seem that way.

So, the homegirl Bianca videoed the gig for us fantastically, and I'ma post a couple videos each day for the rest of the week. Check out the vids below, with the intro, Notion's 'Enter My World' and Cee & Bekah's 'Save Myself' with Tommy Gunnz. Go!
